Who’s in the mood for some laughs?! My newest standalone, romantic comedy, The Simple Life, is LIVE all over the land! This book takes place on a pumpkin farm in Montana, and I had so much fun writing it. My grandparents owned a pumpkin farm when I was growing up, and some of my favorite memories make an appearance in this book.

Grab your copy of this enemies to lovers, small town, single dad romantic comedy and prepare to LOL!

Brooklyn Manning thought her life was perfect in every way, until it crumbled down around her and turned into a dumpster fire. With her pride wounded and her tail tucked between her legs, she leaves New York and goes back to her tiny hometown of White Timber, Montana.

No more twenty-four-hour taco trucks, no more shopping at the best designer stores within walking distance, no more giving taxi drivers the finger when they angrily honk at her. She didn’t think it could get any worse. But then Clint Hastings walked into the room and insulted her.

Her arch nemesis from high school is no longer a nerdy computer whiz, masturbating to pictures in PC World magazine in his free time (allegedly). He’s grown up to be a hot-as-hell cowboy, and she has no other choice but to be a smart ass right back to him. After all, it’s what they do. It’s what they’ve always done, and twelve years apart hasn’t changed anything.

Only this time, getting under each other’s skin is a hell of a lot more fun than it used to be.

*A standalone romantic comedy with a lot of heart*

How many of you dress up for Halloween? As much as I love this holiday, I’m not really a costume person. I mean, I’ll throw on a cute Halloween-shirt when I take my kids trick-or-treating, but that’s about as far as it goes. But, the other day, I put together probably the most brilliant Halloween costume ever and my daughter has demanded that I wear this on trick-or-treat night. Honestly, I think it has to happen. I won’t have to put on make-up or shower or even pretend to be a normal human being.

And just in case you have no clue what I’m doing or what this costume means, you need to go watch the movie Mean Girls IMMEDIATELY. If you haven’t seen this movie, you’re dead to me. Just kidding! Maybe.

For a limited time, you can order signed books from me! I’ll be placing the book order this week, so if you need anything, please fill out the form ASAP!

Alright, that’s all I’ve got for you today. Don’t forget to let me know what you think of the Wish You Were Mine preview! And if you need something to read while you’re waiting for November 14th to get here, check out my Favorite Reads of 2017 board on Pinterest:

Fainting Author

You guys are familiar with those hilarious and adorable fainting goats, right? If not, here you go:

Those little assholes never stop being funny and if anyone owns a fainting goat, you need to tell me right now so I can come and live with you. Anyway, the other day my author friend Katie Ashley sent me a video of a couple imitating fainting goats. As soon as I watched it I thought, “OMG, I should do an author version!”

I’m just going to apologize ahead of time for what you are about to watch. Also, my elbow is still bleeding profusely from the hammock mishap at the end. I should have hired a stunt double.

From the USA Today bestselling author of The Story of Us and Fisher’s Light comes a new, standalone novel—a heart-wrenching story about first loves and second chances that will make you fall in love all over again….

Five years. I would’ve stayed away longer if I hadn’t received the letter. Not a day has gone by that I haven’t thought about her, haven’t missed her smile, haven’t wished that things were different.

The last time I saw my two best friends, I vowed to not stand in the way of their happiness, even if that meant I couldn’t be a part of their lives. Cameron James and her emerald-green eyes were too much of a temptation and I couldn’t stay and watch them together. Cameron deserved better than me. She deserved him.

But now that I am back, things are different. I’m not going to stand by and watch the woman I’ve always loved slip away again. I’m done living my life with regrets and I’m ready to tell her the truth. And I’ll do whatever it takes to show her that I always wished she was mine.

By Aleatha Romig

A sweet, fun, and sexy stand-alone romance from New York Times bestselling author Aleatha Romig.

One night to remember

Is that too much to desire?

One night for fun, passion, and a chance to remember what it’s like to be a woman.
I’m not looking for love.
There’s a man in my life who loves me with all his heart. He has beautiful blue eyes, is three feet tall, and calls me mommy.
He’s my whole world and I’m his. Fate stole his daddy way too soon.
What would happen if I allowed fate another chance, just for one night?

One night to help a friend

Why did I agree to this?

Blind dates are disasters. If I weren’t helping the friend of a friend, I wouldn’t go.
I’m not looking for romance, love, or even a one-night stand.
After all, the man my friend knew is gone. I’m no longer the hockey star known for his “pep” on the ice and in the sack. I have a new life, and a new career—a new passion. I’m not looking for more.
When the blind date is a bust, could fate change everything?

One night doesn’t end with a kiss—it begins with one

Be ready to laugh, cry, and fall head over heels as you meet Leatha, the lighter side of Aleatha in this new sweet and sexy stand-alone romance, ONE NIGHT.

Ember Rose was spicy-sweet seduction.
My biggest temptation.
My biggest regret.

I thought she’d always be waiting for me.
I was wrong.

Now I’m back in Oceanside searching for peace, hoping to escape what my life has become.

She isn’t supposed to be here…
Dark hair blowing in the ocean breeze,
Luscious curves barely hidden by thin cotton.

I didn’t come back for her.
But when we touch, I know I’ll do whatever it takes to make her mine…

Traditions are important. Especially in the South.
College football. Rivalries. Tailgating. Halftime shows.
Some things just don’t change.
Until Reese Holland shows up with her long legs and no-bullsh*t attitude to audition for the prestigious all-male Rodner University snare line.
It doesn’t matter how much hazing she has to endure from Laird Bronson, with his narrowed green eyes and arrogant smirk. She wants that damn spot, and she’s more than good enough to earn it.
She expects there to be tension. Even friction.
But not sparks hot enough to burn the entire campus down.

***Drumline is a standalone college romance.

My boss already controls my days; do I want to give him my nights, as well?

I’ve seen what happens when you give everything to a man. That’s not what I want. I won’t have my heart crushed in anyone’s fist.

Then he changed everything.

Him. Bennett Ashby. My boss.

Seeing him at Luminous, dressed in leather pants and wielding a whip…

Do I crave this?

My mind says no, but my body is starting to have very different ideas.

I knew Rebecca Morales would be the perfect assistant. That’s why I hired her.

I didn’t know that working with her every day would lead to temptation—to own her, to possess her.

When she walked into Luminous, I knew I was screwed. Dipping your pen in the company ink is never smart, but we both agreed what happens at the club stays there.

One night and then it’s back to business tomorrow.

Except I don’t want just one night with Rebecca. I want them all.

Hands down, my favorite thing in the world is to score. Touchdowns.
Don’t let the fact that I’m the leading pick in the Most Valuable Playboy charity auction fool you. These days, I’m only a player on the field. I’ve kept my pants zipped all season long — and it has been long — because nothing’s more important than leading my team to victory every week. Except maybe escaping from the team owner’s recently-widowed and handsy-as-hell sister who’s dead set on winning more than a date with me.

Enter Violet and a well-placed Hail Mary.

She’s my best friend’s sister with a smile as sweet as cherry pie and a mind that runs quicker than the 40-yard-dash. After Violet saves the day with the highest bid, I don’t even give her a two-minute warning before I kiss her in front of the whole crowd and then announce that she’s my girlfriend. Which would be fine except my agent tells me we have to keep up the act while he’s negotiating my contract.
Violet takes one for the team and pretends to be mine, but our boyfriend-girlfriend scrimmage quickly turns into a full contact sport, and I want it to go into overtime. The problem is — I’ve been riding the bench for years.

How can a guy like me, who finally has a chance to prove his worth on the field, convince the girl she’s most valuable to his heart?

MOST VALUABLE PLAYBOY is a brand new standalone sports romance written in the guy’s POV!

Reader Questions Answered & Other Fun Stuff!

Happy summer, everyone! So, I found out yesterday that something was broken on my blog and no one was being notified when I put up a new blog post. OMG, you can only imagine all the swear words that were flying around this house. I might have flipped a few tables and lit things on fire.

Now that I’m calm, I hope everyone is having a great summer. My life right now is filled with being a baseball mom every day, in between trying to get my shit together and write while the kids are home. You’d think this would be pretty easy considering my kids are 10 and 13 and self-sufficient and independent for the most part, but you’d be wrong. If one more child in this house asks me to go somewhere, if someone can sleep over, tells me they’re bored, or just flat-out speaks to me in general when my face is buried in my laptop, I’m putting them both out to the curb with a For Sale sign on them.

You want to know what else my life is currently consumed with? Binge watching Grey’s Anatomy. I watched this show religiously when it was on TV, and I have no idea why I’m torturing myself by watching it all over again. I’m in the middle of trying to write a romantic comedy, and Grey’s Anatomy is not really the best television show to watch to put me in a funny mood.  Everyone dies. Literally. EVERYONE. DIES. Why?? WHYYYYYYY does everyone have to die? It’s a horrible, horrible TV show and yet it’s brilliant. And I can’t stop watching it. Here’s a funny story that happened last night. So, I’m curled up in bed watching Season 5, episode 13. In case you don’t have all episodes of Grey’s Anatomy memorized, this is the one where Lexi Grey breaks Mark Sloan’s penis when they’re having sex. And of course, that’s the exact time my son decides to come in my room and curl up in bed with me.

Spawn: “Did they just say penile fracture?
Me: “Um, yes. Yes they did.”
Spawn: “So, like, he broke his penis? OH MY GOD HE BROKE HIS PENIS!”
Me: “Yes. He broke his penis. Very sad. Poor man.”
Spawn: “OH MY GOD his poor penis. Man, that’s gotta hurt. How did he break it?”
Me: *blank stare
Spawn: “Did someone kick him in the balls and he got a penile fracture? I bet that’s what happened. Or he ran into a table or something. You gotta be careful with your penis.”
Me: *blank stare
Spawn: “Wait, why is he naked under that blanket? He ran his penis into a table while he was naked? Holy crap, that’s REALLY gotta hurt. What an idiot. Who gets a penile fracture by running into a table?”
Me: “You should go to bed now.”
Spawn: “It’s only 7 o’clock.”
-End scene

In case you missed the news, and you might have since no one was receiving updates that I made a new blog post (insert all the swear words here), my newest book, The Story of Us, just released on June 11th! The Story of Us is an emotional, second-chance romance and it’s been getting some of the most amazing reviews I’ve ever seen.

Okay, now on to some fun stuff.  I’ve received a few reader questions recently, so I’m going to answer a few of them here. If you have any questions for me, make sure to leave a comment and I’ll answer some more next week!

What are your current WIPs?? I need more 📚!!! – Nichole M.
Right now, I’m working on something brand spanking new! It’s a 3-book romantic comedy series being published by St. Martin’s Press in 2018. It’s so much fun and I cannot wait to tell you more about it! But right now, I can’t say much other than it’s romantic comedy and you’re going to love it. I’m hoping I’ll be able to share more news on this very soon, so stay tuned!

Will you be writing more in the Holidays series? – Samantha R.
YES! There is a Halloween novella for the Holidays that will be included in a Halloween anthology book called Eye Candy, coming September 5, 2017 from St. Martin’s Press! It’s currently up for preorder everywhere, so make sure you check it out! Click here to see the cover and preorder:
Eye Candy

The Holidays series will also be coming in paperback in December in one big book bundle. I’ll have more information on that soon, but for now you can check it out here: The Holidays Bundle

When will we get the next installment in the Ignite trilogy? – Ginny R.
Sadly, life and other projects got in the way of writing the third book in this series. I’ve recently updated this series so it is now just called The Ignite Series, instead of The Ignite Trilogy. I feel awful that I couldn’t get Scorched finished, but I have to listen to my brain and the voices in there. I tried to force myself to write this book at the end of last year, and all I did was sit at my computer and cry. I wasn’t feeling it, and I can’t write something I’m not feeling or it will just be total crap. The good news is, both of the books in this series (Burned and Branded) can be read as standalones, there are no cliffhangers to leave you hanging and wanting to cut me, and each of those books are about a different couple who each get a happily ever after at the end of their book, so there’s that. I’m not saying I’ll never, ever write this book because it all just depends on what I’m feeling, but right now, it’s indefinitely on hold.

When writing how do you keep dedicated to one storyline? Do you outline when you start writing it or do you just let it come as it does? – Renee R.
I’m slightly insane, so that helps! When a story hits me, I get obsessed. I barely sleep, I forget to eat, and I don’t shower or move until the book is finished. Which is why I write books pretty fast. I wrote Fisher’s Light in 12 days. I wrote Burned in 10 days. And so on and so forth. When a story consumes me, I have to get it out of my head as quickly as possible because I get easily distracted. And I also don’t outline. I’m what they call a “pantser”. I write by the seat of my pants. I make general notes about characters, timeline, location, and jot down a few sentences about certain scenes that I might have dreamed about or can’t stop thinking about, but that’s pretty much it. And it’s physically impossible for me to write out of order. I envy authors who can do this, but I can’t. I have to write the book in order, exactly how a reader would experience it. For the most part, I know how the book will start and I know how it will end, but I have no clue what’s going to happen in between those parts until I sit down and start writing. I might not even know what will happen in chapter 13 until I finish chapter 12.

I’ve been slacking lately in the reading department. I usually read at least 3 books a week but I’ve had so much going on with my son’s baseball and trying not to slowly go insane (more than I already am) having the kids home for the summer while trying to work and my attention span for reading hasn’t been the greatest. Because of this, when I pick a book to read, it needs to be a good one. A grab-me-right-from-page-one book that I can’t read fast enough.

I just finished reading an ARC of Hard Love by Joanne Schwehm. Let’s just take a minute to look at this cover. LOOK AT IT! OMG it’s so pretty I want to pet it. This book comes out July 18th and you’re gonna want to put it on your TBR. It’s been a while since I read a book in one sitting, but once I started Hard Love, I couldn’t put it down. Margo and Noah’s story was sweet, hot, romantic, heart-breaking and absolute perfection. Add it to your TBR here:

Next up is Vanishing Act, by A.M. Madden. This is a new release that just came out June 20th and I immediately one-clicked it. A.M. Madden is an automatic one-click for me. I’m only a few chapters in so far, but of course I’m loving every word! Check it out and grab your copy:

Happy Holidays, everyone!!!  It’s snowing here in my neck of the woods, which always makes me happy this time of year. Until I have to put on pants and go out in this crap. Which I need to do in about an hour to take my kids to the doctor since I’m pretty sure both of them have strep throat. Merry Christmas to me!

If anyone could use some laughter this holiday season, I have a present for you! The Stocking Was Hung (The Holidays #1) is currently on sale for $0.99 for a limited time. This book is crazy, funny, hot and insane, FYI.

Fun fact about this book. The main character’s name is Noel, but her family calls her Leon. This whole part of the story came about because every year on Christmas Eve, we have a party at our house with family. My brothers, who are in their 50’s, seem to think it’s hilarious to rearrange my stocking holders to spell Leon, and then proceed to call me Leon the rest of the night. Like, screaming it at the top of their lungs. “LEON! Bring me a beer!”, “LEON! Time to open presents!”
Every. Damn. Year. I had to get rid of the stocking holders that spelled out Santa, because they kept changing them to spell Satan. My brothers are assholes.

In case you missed the news, I have a new book coming March 7th, called Below Deck!! It’s an angsty, sexy, standalone romance and I can’t wait for you guys to read it!  The cover reveal is coming soon, so make sure you’re following me on social media so you don’t miss it! Coming Soon!

I’m so excited to share with you guys a new book I have coming out November 1st! I know, November is like 10 years away. Hopefully it will go by fast! But don’t worry, for the first time in like a year and a half, I have a pre-order!!  As some of you might know, I’m not really a fan of pre-orders. Mostly because I am never organized enough to have a book ready as early as I need to for pre-orders. No, this isn’t a sign of the apocalypse!  At least, I don’t think it is. You might want to get your shivs and crossbows ready just in case.  To celebrate me not procrastinating something, you get a special pre-order price of $2.99! So grab it before November 1st when the price will go up:

Jed Had to Die
Romantic Comedy/Standalone

And yes, the title might sound a little familiar if you’re a fan of the Dixie Chicks. Last year when I was driving my kids to one of their 8,000 sporting events, Goodbye Earl came on the radio. I immediately pulled the car over and started taking notes for this book. So, if you want a glimpse into what this story is loosely based on and you’ve never heard that song, click on Goodbye Earl above and have a listen 🙂

The happiest day of Payton Lambert’s life was the day she graduated high school and watched Bald Knob, Kentucky get smaller and smaller in her rearview mirror. She wanted more for her life than a tiny town where everyone knows your business and you can’t find a decent cup of coffee for at least forty miles. Twelve years later, an unexpected phone call in the middle of the night has her packing up her life in Chicago and racing back home to the one person she ever regretted leaving behind.

Wait, one person?? Make that two. When the hell did Leo Hudson become sheriff of Bald Knob and get so hot? The scrawny Future Farmer of America who followed Payton around like a puppy and could recite cow insemination facts in his sleep is long gone. Leo is still hot on her heels, but now he’s wearing a badge and dead set on solving a murder that may or may not involve Payton…along with half the town.

You steal a few wine coolers in high school and make one little comment about cutting off a man’s balls when you come home, and suddenly, you’re suspected of killing him.

In a town where the biggest crime happened the day Jethro Snell kicked a few of his cows (an honest mistake when you’ve had a few jars of homemade moonshine), people are pointing fingers, rumors are spreading like wildfire, and Payton swears she’s only making out with the sweet-talking, studly sheriff to distract him from the secrets she’s keeping.

When you’ve been tased, peed on by a yippy dog named Bo Jangles, and can’t stop picturing what Sheriff Hudson looks like naked, it will be a tough job making everyone agree that…Jed had to die.
