Seduction and Snacks is 3 years old!

Three years ago this week, I published my first book – Seduction and Snacks. It was rejected by 35 publishers/editors for being too “crazy” and “not realistic”, even though 95% of the book is all true things that happened in my crazy life with my crazy kids, family and friends.

I took a chance after the rejections and self-published the book on Amazon. Through social media and word of mouth, you took a chance on this “crazy” and “unrealistic” book and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Because of YOU, I’m doing what I was always meant to – tell stories and put the voices in my head into books. Because of YOU and how awesomely you embraced the crazy, Seduction and Snacks has been translated in 7 different countries and it still remains my most popular, best selling book to this day.

I’ve received so many amazing gifts from readers that I have an entire book case dedicated just to Seduction and Snacks presents!

Seduction and snacks is the best book I’ve ever read. All of them are. I’m so glad you took the chance. I’ve read so many books hoping that the genre and characters are like your chocolate lovers series and only one other has made me laugh as much. Thank you for writing these amazing books you’ve inspired me and I can only hope the book I’m currently writing is half as good as yours. 🙂 thank you emma x

  • Robin Castle says:

I loved this series of books. When ever I am asked what was one of your favorite series I tell them Seduction and Snacks. It captivated me because it was so raw but yet so real. I have not been well and sometimes when I have a bad day I go back to this series and read some of my favorite parts. Laughing is such good medicine and belly laugh is the best. Exactly what happens when I read parts of each of the books in each of the series. The one that really gets to me is Gavin and the Vibrator. Then when I want to remember my Mom and how much I loved her I read Watch Over Me. I am really happy that you believed in your writing because I think to date I have read everyone of your books. Your really bring light to my dark world at times. Keep writing. Robin I. Castle

Tara, I just have to tell you that this is one of my all time favorite books and the one that made me fall in love with your books. I lost my mom on Mothers Day this year and was heartbroken because it completely unexpected. When I felt like I couldn’t cope anymore and needed something to cheer me up, I went to this book because I knew that it would make forget what I was going through as I laughed out loud about the one that you created. Thank you for not giving up and congratulations showing them just how kick ass your writing is.

  • Lysa Lessieur says:

So basically, what you’re saying is, without us, all that crazy would stay licked up inside your head. Only you would hear the voices. And the only thing you’d be famous for is being a mass murderer. Do you look good in orange?

    • Tara says:

Ha ha ha ha, surprisingly, I look FANTASTIC in orange. Sadly, I believe I’d fail at making a toothbrush shank so I should probably stick with the writing thing.

  • Terry Trahan says:

Congratulations on your bookaversary!!! What do those crazy publishers know!!! Your fans have spoken!!

  • Kristin Reh says:

I LOVE your chocolate lovers series and chocoholics series!! The books are laugh out loud funny! Many times as I was reading them I found my self laughing, much to the astonishment of those around me. I have enjoyed every one of your books that I have read and re-read over the years. Please keep writing and continuing to give us way too much great material to read to bother cleaning house!!

  • Toni Freitag says:

I have really enjoyed readying your books. No matter what genre you are writing, I can always know that I will be pulled into the story and not want to put the book down until I am done with it. Unfortunately, my boss tends to frown on this. Your characters are always entertaining and fun to get to know thru the story. Keep up the great writing and I am eagerly looking forward to the next one.

  • Shonda Seale says:

I love love love this entire series and the others. However seductions and snacks is my go to book whenever I need a book that will make me laugh til I cry!!!!

  • Marie E says:

Congrats Tara! I have to be honest..I secretly think we are soul mates..not in the creepy way of me touching your breasts but, in a “I think you can read my thoughts” kind of way. I am a mom of 2 teenagers, who is constantly inappropriate at best! I have a dirty mind and an unfiltered dirty mouth and never apologize for either…only in my head…constantly!!
I read your first book “Seductions and Snacks” when it first came out on Amazon. I was looking for free books and scanned by it twice, thinking it was a cookbook before finally clicking on it. After reading the first chapter, my 15 year old daughter came rushing to me to see why I was crying only to find out that I was laughing so hard tears were running down my face. Being the inappropriate mom I am, I read the full chapter out loud to my daughter and then proceeded to call all my friends and read it out loud to them. Yes, I was your personal audio book!!
To this day, anyone I meet that knows how to read, I recommend you books. You my friend are amazing, gifted beyond words and someday when we finally meet (Please come to Bend, OR) I know we will be friends for life! (insert creepy music here)
I will continue to read every sentence you write and wish you all the success you deserve.

    • Tara says:

OMG you are so awesome!!! Thank you so much for this post and if I ever make it to Bend, OR, I will expect you to fondle me and hum creepy music in my ear!
